Quess Corp – Middle East is looking for an experienced and proactive L2 System Database Administrator (DBA) to join a dynamic IT Infrastructure team in Dubai.
If you have hands-on experience in SQL Server, performance tuning, backups, HA/DR solutions, and cloud migration, this role could be a great fit.
🔑 Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain database health, performance, availability, and security

Perform backups, indexing, patching, and routine maintenance

Troubleshoot escalated issues from L1 and resolve incidents efficiently
-
Install, configure, and deploy database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
-
Optimize database performance, indexing, and query tuning
-
Manage user access, permissions, and security policies
-
Support database upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformation initiatives
-
Maintain documentation and generate performance and incident reports
-
Collaborate with L3 DBAs, application teams, and vendors
🧠 SQL DBA Expertise Required
-
SQL Server Administration (2012–2022)
-
Installation, upgrades, patching, and migrations
-
Backup & recovery strategy design
-
Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS) & on-prem to Azure migration
-
High Availability / Disaster Recovery (Always On, Log Shipping, Clustering, Mirroring)
-
Performance tuning & optimization (execution plans, profiling, indexing)
-
Troubleshooting resource contention (CPU, memory, I/O, disk)
-
Managing large database environments (TB scale, high transactions)
-
PowerShell / T-SQL scripting & automation
-
Experience with SSRS, SSAS, SSIS & SQL Agent jobs

Security & compliance (encryption, auditing, role-based access)
🎓 Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT (preferred)

6–10 years of DBA or IT Infrastructure experience

Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Knowledge of ServiceNow / Jira ticketing systems
