We are looking for a highly skilled Django/Python & Next.js Developer to join our client’s development team on a 12-month extendable contract. The ideal candidate is strong in backend development with Python & Django, and confident with Next.js for modern, responsive frontend applications.
This role focuses on building scalable APIs, integrating systems, and delivering high-performance web applications.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python/Django

Build interactive, responsive frontend applications using Next.js

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend and third-party systems

Work on database modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning

Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control

Collaborate with UI/UX, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality releases

Debug issues, optimize code, and ensure application scalability and performance

Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices

Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies
🎯 Required Skills & Experience

5–6 years of strong experience in Python & Django development

Hands-on experience with Next.js, React.js, and modern frontend technologies

Solid understanding of REST APIs, data serialization, and API integrations

Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and ORM tools

Experience with authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, cookies, sessions)

Familiarity with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines is a plus

Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design

Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization skills
